ACRYLITE® GMU sheet is a cell cast acrylic sheet designed and manufactured for general aviation meeting ASTM D 4802 Category 1 Finish 1 & AMS-LP-391 Item A Type 1 Grade C. ACRYLITE® GMU sheet is used when superior optics and high quality are required. It is primarily used for fixed wing and rotary aircraft transparencies where military specifications are not required. ACRYLITE® GMU sheet is available in thickness ranging from .060 up to .500 in clear, green, and grey.
Fabrication techniques used on standard cell cast acrylic sheet will be appropriate for ACRYLITE® GMU sheet. When drape forming this sheet, excellent results can be achieved if the sheet is heated evenly between 302 °F and 320 °F. For pressure forming or vacuum forming operations temperature of 338 °F to 374 °F are recommended.
