Acrylite® GP Cell Cast PMMA Sheet ASTM D4802 cat A-1, finish 1, UVA
ACRYLITE® cell cast is available in clear, colors and a wide range of standard sizes and thicknesses from .060” (1.52mm) to 4.00” (100mm).
ACRYLITE® cell cast acrylic sheet is made to exacting standards. It offers excellent optical characteristics, thickness tolerances, light stability, and low internal stress levels for consistent performance. Colorless ACRYLITE® cell cast carries an exclusive 30-year limited warranty on light transmission, your assurance of a quality product.
Characteristics
ACRYLITE® sheet is a lightweight, rigid thermoplastic material that has many times the breakage resistance of standard glass and is highly resistant to weather conditions. ACRYLITE® cell cast can
be easily sawed, machined, thermoformed, and cemented and is ultraviolet light absorbing up to approximately 360 nanometers.
Because of its unique properties, ACRYLITE® cell cast is ideal for a wide range of applications, such as:
• Retail store displays
• Security glazing
• Industrial and residential glazing
• Luminaries
• Aquariums
• Decorative paneling
• Spectator shielding
• Skylights
• Signs
ACRYLITE® sheet is more impact-resistant than glass. If subjected to impact beyond the limit of its resistance, it does not shatter into small slivers but breaks into comparatively large pieces.
ACRYLITE® sheet meets the requirements of ANSI Z 97.1 for use as a Safety Glazing material in Buildings (for thicknesses 0.080” [2.0 mm] to 0.500” [1 2.7mm]).
Acrylic offers better weather resistance than other types of transparent plastics. ACRYLITE® cell cast will withstand exposure to blazing sun, extreme cold, sudden temperature changes, salt water
spray and other harsh conditions. It will not deteriorate after many years of service because of the inherent stability of acrylic. ACRYLITE® sheet has been widely accepted for use in skylights,
school buildings, industrial plants, aircraft glazing and outdoor signs.
Acrylite® Premium (PMMA) Extruded Sheet
ACRYLITE® premium is the highest quality continuously manufactured sheet on the market today. Using a proprietary, innovative process, ACRYLITE® premium sheet products are economical, provide tight thickness tolerance, high optical characteristics and low stress levels. ACRYLITE® premium sheet is readily available in a variety of standard sizes, thicknesses and colors.
Colorless ACRYLITE® premium sheet carries an exclusive 30-year limited warranty on light transmission – your assurance of a quality product.
ACRYLITE® premium is a lightweight, rigid and weather-resistant thermoplastic that is dimensionally stable, resistant to breakage and can be easily fabricated and cemented.
Because of its virtually distortion-free clarity, it is well suited for use in a variety of applications.
• Skylights
• Window glazing
• Retail displays
• Signs
• Optical displays
• Picture framing
ACRYLITE® premium sheet is available in thicknesses from
.060” (1.5 mm) to .472” (12 mm) and actual sheet sizes from 48 x 96 to 80 X 120. Custom sizes are also available. All sheets are protected with polyethylene film or paper masking.
Safety
ACRYLITE® premium sheet is more impact resistant than glass. If subjected to impact beyond the limit of its resistance, it does not shatter into small slivers, but breaks into comparatively
large pieces. ACRYLITE® sheet meets the requirements of ANSI Z97.1 for use as a Safety Glazing Material in Buildings (for thicknesses .080” to .500” [2.0 mm- 12.0 mm]).
Weather Resistance
ACRYLITE® premium sheet will withstand exposure to blazing sun, extreme cold, sudden temperature changes, salt water spray, etc. It will not deteriorate after many years of service because of the inherent stability of acrylic resins. ACRYLITE® has been widely accepted for use in school buildings, industrial plants, and outdoor signs.
Dimensional Stability
Although ACRYLITE® will expand and contract due to changes in temperature and humidity; it will not shrink with age. Some shrinkage occurs when ACRYLITE® is heated to forming temperature, but post-forming stability is excellent.
Light Weight
ACRYLITE® sheet is only half the weight of glass and 43% the weight of aluminum.
Rigidity
ACRYLITE® sheet is not as rigid as glass or metals. However, it is more rigid than many other plastics such as acetates, polycarbonates or vinyls. Under wind load an acrylic sheet will bow and
foreshorten as a result of deflection. For glazing installations the maximum wind load and the size of the window must be considered when the thickness of a panel is to be determined. If ACRYLITE® sheet is formed into corrugated or domed shapes, rigidity will be increased and deflection minimized.
Cold Flow
Large, flat ACRYLITE® sheet, if insufficiently supported, may deform permanently due to continuous loads such as snow, or even their own weight. Increased rigidity obtained by forming will minimize cold flow.
Abrasion-resistant Acrylic Sheet - UV-stabilized/Coated Two-Sides
Abrasion Resistant acrylic sheet combines the physical characteristics of acrylic sheet with an abrasion resistant, cleanable surface. Abrasion-resistant acrylic sheet gets its hard, glass-like surface from a coating of cross linked polysilicate (a silicon polymer or polysiloxane) resin. This unique surface has a combination of properties that include extreme resistance to abrasion, solvents, impact, and weathering (including increased resistance to the effect of ultra-violet light). It is resistant to chemicals such as acids, bases, hydrocarbons, esters and alcohols. Abrasion-resistant acrylic sheet is half the weight of glass and can be cut and fabricated using standard power tools.- Sheets supplied with protective masking on both sides.
- Other sheet sizes available on request.
AC-300™ Static-Dissipative Cast Acrylic Sheet
AC-300™ Acrylic is a plastic sheet product that controls static electricity in many applications, including windows, doors, machine covers and enclosures, and fabricated desiccators and cabinets. It is a premium quality acrylic sheet coated with SciCron Technologies clear, AC-300™ static dissipative coating which prevents charge generation on the sheet surfaces. This controls particulate attraction and prevents electrostatic discharge (ESD) events completely independent of humidity. AC-300 Acrylic fabricates simply, is light in weight and is available in large sheet sizes. It has excellent optical properties, chemical resistance, surface hardness and mar resistance.- Sheets supplied with protective masking on both sides.
- AC-350/thermoformable grade available on request.
