Acetal polymers, referred to chemically as PolyOxyMethylene, are semi-crystalline engineering themoplastics made by the polymerization of formaldehyde. They have physical properties that are not available with metals or most other plastics; high mechanical strength and rigidity, low coefficients of friction, low moisture absorption, excellent dimensional stability, fatigue endurance, and resistance to abrasion and creep. These materials are also resistant to a wide range of solvents and have good electrical properties.

  • POM1

ESD Acetal shapes are characterized by their excellent wear resistance, thermal performance, and ability to quickly dissipate static charges. This modified Acetal produces a defined degree of conductivity in the static-dissipative range with a surface resistivity 108-1010 ohm/square. Due to these properties, this grade is ideal for several applications throughout the semiconductor and electronics industry, such as hard disk drive fixtures, high speed electronic printing components, jigs and fixtures for static control, and wafer processing components.
